15% Market Increase)The County of San Diego's Behavioral Health Services has an immediate vacancy for Mental Health Specialist to serve as a liaison between a mental health service provider and individuals suffering from serious mental illness by providing a variety of services including but not limited to triage, crisis intervention, counseling, case management, representative payee services, support with benefits initiation and/or reestablishment, coordination of care with external providers, outreach for homeless persons, and educational services for members of the community.

Education and/or
Experience:
Qualifying Experience and Education:
1.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.
S.
college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in counseling, psychology, social work, psychiatric nursing, or a closely related field; AND, one (1) year of experience providing mental health assessment, crisis intervention counseling, and case management in a mental health setting; OR,2.
An associate's degree from an accredited U.
S.
college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in counseling, psychology, social work, psychiatric nursing, or a closely related field; AND, three (3) years of experience providing mental health assessment, crisis intervention counseling, and case management in a mental health setting.
Notes:
Additional years of experience as described above may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Specialized training in crisis intervention is highly desirable for positions that respond to crisis situations via telephone.
Licensure as a Psychiatric Technician by the State of California is desired at the time of application and may be used to substitute for the education and experience requirement.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
