90% Market Increase) In-Service Education Coordinators are responsible for organizing and directing in-service education and training programs for the professional and paraprofessional clinical nursing staff and other associated staff of a hospital.

HIRING PROCESS ANDTIMELINE:
The timeline for this recruitment is outlined below.
Job Offer and Background Process begins week of May 6,2024.
Pre-employment Medical Screening:
Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.
Anticipated Start Date:
Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date.
If you are not selected for this interview process, you may have the opportunity to compete for future vacancies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation and/or
Experience:
A valid California Registered Nurse License; AND,At least one (1) year of experience as a nursing instructor or in-service educator; AND,Two (2) years of experience providing direct patient care.
Notes:
A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited U.
S.
college or university, or certified foreign studies equivalency, in nursing is highly desirable and may substitute for one (1) year of experience in direct patient care.
A master's degree from an accredited U.
S.
college or university, or certified foreign studies equivalency, in nursing education or a closely related field may substitute for the year of experience in nursing education.
CPR and PART (Professional Assault Response Training) or PRAB (Preventing & Responding to Assaultive Behavior) Certification is required within one year of appointment.
The ideal candidate is defined as:
Having experience working in a hospital setting, preferably an acute psychiatric hospital setting.
Comfortable and competent working with psychiatric patients.
Being knowledgeable about the following elements:
nursing practices, regulatory standards (e.
g.
, CDPH Title 22, CMS, Joint Commission), multidisciplinary treatment paradigms.
Having the ability to assess training/educational needs of diverse clinical disciplines.
Having the experience to develop an organizational educational plan.
Being skilled with Microsoft Office programs.
Having excellent written and oral presentation skills.
Condition of Employment As part of the County of San Diego's pre-employment process, prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment.
Additional types of background investigations may be conducted based on the job-related activities of the position.
Note:
Current County employees may be excluded from additional background screening.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
