Job Description and Duties
Major Claims Operations has an opening for a Major Claims Adjuster that will be filled at one of the State Fund locations.
The successful candidate must have at least 2-3 years of workers compensation claims adjusting experience.
This is a unique opportunity to be a member of our enthusiastic and dedicated Major Claims Operations team.
This position requires the ability to:
Be a team player with proven technical expertise and the ability to work cooperatively, yet independently.
Ensure timely and accurate liability decisions and benefit provisions.
Develop and execute appropriate claims strategies and anticipates potential problems, applies creative and effective problem solving skills in orer to drive the claim to its earliest possible resolution.
Establish and maintain timely, current, accurate, and adequate estimates and case documentation.
Proactively manage, finalize and control an inventory that includes catastrophic maintenance and/or death claims, according to MCO/Corporate policies and procedures and Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) laws/regulation.
Be considered a Subject Matter Expert in one or more areas of the Labor Code, policies, procedures, claims technology and case law.
Lead by example and coach others to higher performances and serves as a resource to both claims and legal for complex claim issues.
Assist the Major Claims Manager within delegated duties.
Manage and coordinate special projects assigned by the Major Claims Manager or Corporate Claims.
Maintain regular and predicatable attendance during working hours.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
