As a Brand Ambassador ‚€“ Master Sommelier, you will act as national authority, face, and voice for Germain-Robin Premium California Brandy. You will be responsible for engaging and educating national & local media, Sommelier community, retail & on-premise trade, winery & distributor sales personnel, and consumers across the US. In this dynamic position, you will work cross functionally to contribute to liquid development, brand marketing strategies, education platforms, product allocations, and sales success. This is also a great opportunity to develop and lead the trade engagement strategy to build awareness within Sommelier community.

What You Will Do

  • Develops, implements, and leads the Sommelier advocacy strategy for Germain-Robin. Ensures the Sommelier Community is engaged and educated in the Germain-Robin brand.

  • Develops, leads, and executes engaging brand and category educational presentations for trade and consumers.

  • Travels up to 75% of business time to tier 1 and tier 2 markets to engage and educate trade, consumers, and sales force.

  • Works with Luxury Specialists and Sales Directors to identify key On-Premise & Retail target accounts for Germain-Robin across US.

  • Works with distilling team to contribute to liquid development of LTO and halo product offerings.

  • Works with Brand Marketing team to contribute to brand plan, GTM strategies, new product offerings.

  • Works with PR team to identify and seize press opportunities.

  • Harvests relationships with national & local media.

  • Provides support, activation and memorable experiences for both customers and consumers.

  • Manages activation, and sample budgets.

  • Contributes creatively in the development of new branded POS and collateral.

  • Engages as needed with most relevant platforms of social media (FB, IG, Snapchat). Comments on posts and takes pictures and posts directly. Provides content for agencies and may have a direct channel on social on their own.

  • Gather real-time photo and video content to be shared with the brand social media team.

  • Leads debriefs after events to effectively decipher strengths and opportunities.

  • Provides thought leadership by teaching the Luxury Specialists (Gallo Sales employees) how to conduct events. Ensures the local sommelier community is aware and engaged in Germain-Robin events, and gathers the Sommelier Community's thoughts and feedback.

  • Engages with the Sommelier community in all aspects, including those unrelated to the Germain-Robin brand.

  • Plans Trade focused events (festivals, etc.) that are targeting the Sommelier community and leads internal and external event teams.

  • Completes monthly quantitative and qualitative reports as needed, including competitive brand observations.

  • Maintains intellectual relevance of global and local market trends.

  • Responsible for developing, organizing and executing exceptional evangelist initiatives against customers and consumers.

  • Promotes positive relationships across the winery sales organization.

  • Provides innovation and demonstrates entrepreneurial mindset. Drives future-focused change.

  • Builds, manages, and shares best practices on consumer and trade activation strategies.

  • Influences and activates customers' consumer distribution lists and social media followers through activation of digital content.

  • Advocates for Germain-Robin, including hosting events, leveraging social media and other tools to promote for Gallo sales within his/her community.

  • Supports commercialization of digital marketing programs.

What You Will Need

  • High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.

  • Master Sommelier Certification from Court of Master Sommeliers -OR- Advanced Sommelier Certification with plans to obtain Master Sommelier Certification.

  • Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of wine & spirits experience including Winery/Distillery, Restaurant/Bar, Media, Supplier/Wholesaler, Importer, Education, or Retail -OR- 10 years of wine & spirits experience including Winery/Distillery, Restaurant/Bar, Media, Supplier/Wholesaler, Importer, Education, or Retail.

  • Required to travel up to 75% during business.

  • Experience with wine service & wine education.

  • Skilled in delivering an engaging presentation.

  • Experience with owned social media and networks.

  • Required to be 21 years of age or older.

  • Personal passion and curiosity for spirits and demonstrate a depth of knowledge.

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of wine & spirits experience including Winery/Distillery, Restaurant/Bar, and Media.

  • Established Sommelier network and skilled in harvesting relationships with Sommelier community.

  • Master story teller with engaging and compelling presentation skills.

  • Established relationships with iconic fine dining establishments across US.

  • Skilled in reading, analyzing and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.

  • Skilled in business correspondence.

  • Skilled in effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clientele, customers and the general public.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Skilled in solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Skilled in interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

  • Skilled in delivering impactful media interviews and harvesting relationships with members of the media.
