Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to do the work of a(n) Electronics Mechanic without more than normal supervision. Performing functional circuit testing to determine the extent of repairs required; repairing various types of electronic systems; using special purpose tools and equipment such as voltmeter, ammeter, wattmeter, megger, and ohmmeter; and performing computerized diagnostics tests to troubleshoot a variety of electronic equipment. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Electronics Physical Efforts:
Frequently lifts and carries, unassisted, items weighing up to 40 pounds. The work requires frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping. Climbing and working in high places may be required. Some work may require the aid of magnifying lenses, eye loops, and microscopes to accomplish repairs and miniature components. Working Conditions:
Work accomplished inside is usually in a well-lighted, heated and ventilated area. Work accomplished outside the repair facility may require exposure to cold, heat and existing weather conditions, and may occasionally work in high or restricted places. Employee may be exposed to electrical shock, burns, cuts and bruises. Works with small power tools.
