US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to do the work of a(n) Plumber without more than normal supervision. - Failure to Perform a variety of plumbing duties involved in the repair and maintenance of plumbing systems based on work orders, oral instructions and sketches. Inspect and test joints and piping for leaks. Use hand and power tools including rulers, saws, hand and power threaders and pipe wrenches. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT:
The plumber makes repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms, and where the parts of systems worked on are in hard-to-reach places. This requires him/her to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The plumber frequently lifts, carriers, and sets up parts and equipment that weighs up to 40 pounds or more. WORKING CONDITIONS:
The work is done inside and outside, and is usually dirty, dusty, and greasy. The plumber is sometimes required to make repairs in areas where bad smelling fumes are present. The plumber has occasional exposure to the possibility of broken bones. He/she has frequent exposure to the possibility of scrapes, burns, and infections.
