Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Examiner and Identifier Supervisor without more than normal supervision. I have supervised subordinates. I am able to respond to subordinates with regard to instructions, specifications, and tools needed to accomplish their tasks. I can plan and organize production flow and training schedules. I can supervise employees while observing work in progress to anticipate and resolve problems in order to meet schedules or deadlines. I have made determinations on the acceptance or disposal or standard equipment and trained others to properly identify material. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Lead or Supervise Physical Effort - Incumbents regularly stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time. Constant kneeling, crouching, bending, stooping and walking are required. Works in tiring and uncomfortable positions, and in close quarters. Frequently lift and move equipment, components, or material weighing up to 40 pounds. Heavier items are lifted with weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. Incumbent may climb in, on, and under vehicles and other large mechanized equipment. Working Conditions -Work is performed inside or outside in areas that may be hot, camp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted. Incumbent is exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock or mechanized work areas. May be subject to exposure of hazardous material. May require wearing protective clothing such as hardhats, hard hats, gloves, masks, etc. Steel toed shoes are always required.
