Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to do the work of a(n) Metal Processing Supervisor without more than normal supervision. I have supervised subordinate workers. I have provided direction subordinate work groups on long term projects. I have participated in the evaluation performance of subordinate workers. I have supervised employees performing welding processes. I have inspected welding techniques for proper tolerances and serviceability. I have anticipated and resolved problems in order to meet schedules or deadlines. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Lead or Supervise PHYSICAL EFFORT Most work is performed at a desk; however, due to the nature of work supervised, the incumbent may be required to work in tight and uncomfortable positions for long periods. Work requires frequent bending, reaching, stretching, climbing, crouching and laying. Sometimes works on top of and under equipment in cramped or awkward positions. Performs strenuous work while standing, lying or sitting. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 45 lbs., and often puts forth similar effort in pushing, pulling, and turning, positioning, and adjusting parts, assemblies, equipment and tools. Lifts and moves heavier items with the assistance of other workers and/or lifting devices. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed inside buildings, in shops and outside with exposure to wide variations in weather and temperature. Incumbent is exposed to potential injury from power tools and danger from flying objects, cuts and scrapes, is expose to traffic hazards while driving on both improved and unimproved road surfaces. May occasionally make repairs when noxious fumes are present. There is exposure to insect, spider and snakebites.
